CinemaGig Nights

 A Gig Harbor Kiwanis project to support activities in the community.

       In summer 2005, the City of Gig Harbor began presenting free outdoor movies from July 4^th through late August.   To contribute to the success of this program, the Gig Harbor Kiwanis’serves complimentary popcorn, soft drinks, and bottled water.   For the past two years, we have partnered with Kitsap Bank, using their portable popcorn cart to pop hot popcorn. 

        CinemaGig's free movies, shown on a portable screen with stereo sound system, start as darkness approaches and serve two different audiences.  Friday night’s show, called "Date Night," is presented  at Donkey Creek Park at the intersection of Harborview and Burnham Drive.  Saturday's movie theme, "Family Night," takes place at Skansie Park in the center of town. 

       Families, couples, and friends gather on the lawn, sitting on blankets and low portable chairs, cuddling together to watch see classic movies in the warm summer evening beside the harbor.
